The Ecoheat4Cities project was officially launched on 26 June 2010. The project supported and continues to support the recognition, development and application of sustainable District Heating and Cooling (DHC) systems. Through the establishment and implementation of the voluntary green energy label that measures energy efficiency, use of renewable's and CO2 emission savings of DHC systems, companies, cities and interested investors can now join forces to make pro active sustainable energy based choices.
The Ecoheat4cities project is now complete and officially ended on 24 December 2012.

The final conference of the Ecoheat4cities project was held in Brussels on 9-10 October 2012 as part of 'The next DHC Generation' conference.
